Hosta - I'll give you a ((hug)) on Wonky's behalf think she'd better keep her hostas in pots on her terrace - her garden is home to many happy slugs and snails
The Hosta Fireworks that I bought yesterday had only just been potted after splitting and apparently it's a 'slow grower' , but be patient and keep a space for one in your patch when mine is big enough to split
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Hosta thank you that would be lovely! Dove is right when she says that I give residence to many slugs and snails. We have an extension and they raised the foundations with concrete to get level with the rest of the house. This leaves a long concrete area at the side of the house which is raised from the garden. This has drains and cracks which house all sorts of nasties! off course I've made it pretty with a planter or two and a table and chairs and obviously renamed it a terrace but poundland sell copper slug tape so I'm game for a gamble if you are!
Trying to remember everything I bought from garden centre trip with Dove,
Lychnis coronaria
Crocosmia Emily McKenzie
Panicum virgatum prairie sky
Miscanthus sinensis morning light
Also a massive totally tangerine geum from Dove, which is so big I'm wondering if I can split it in 4
Just been out in the garden figuring where they can all go until Dove sent her sleet over this way
A good selection WW. I have a lot of crocosmia Emily McKenzie but lost a few which were in a frost pocket. Is that the geum which was much in evidence at Chelsea last year?
I believe so Joyce Dove supplied that one and its massive! We reckon we can split it into four good sized plants! Really lovely colour
I planted a few crocosmia bulbs in pots but nothing has come through yet and I'd had my heart set on growing some, so thought I'd cheat and get line of those! really looking forward to seeing everything settling into the garden, a few weeks and it will all look like its been there forever!
