greenhouse

I have a battery operated (min & max) temperature greenhouse thermometer..I don't think it's waterproof. I have 4 roof vents and 2 louvres..the GH is in a south facing garden that has sun all around when out. Where is the best place to position the thermometer? Should I also have a potting area in the GH or have it in my large shed?.thanks

Mine's not battery operated, but I have it on a lower shelf in the shade. My potting area is in the GH. More convenient.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Anywhere that is in the shade.  I pot-on in the shed as that's where I keep the pots, trays and compost etc.  More convenient. image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • I keep my max-min greenhouse sensor under a sideways up pot so that it's always in the shade but there is air circulation.

I don't have a dedicated potting area as I move my potting tray to where it's warm - so sometimes in the greenhouse and sometimes outside!
