Something Eating my Shrubs

Hi guys i have just read a post that reminded me about my shrubs in my border.
Last year my border shrubs were eaten to shreds and there for i would like to stop this in its path right now.
What could i purchase to get rid of these little blitters ?
I tried looking last year and didnt see a trace of bug at all.
Any pointers

I found that nematodes were really effective against vine weevils on my shrubby border - two applications three years ago and no problems in that area since.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
