Bird Poo
in Talkback
The local avian population had a meeting and decided that my lawn makes an ideal toilet. Apart from buying a rifle and sniping at them from the shed - Does anyone know a way to change their minds? PLEASE!!!

Be grateful it's free fertiliser and perfect for lawns, you won't need to feed it this year.
What sort of birds?
Is there an overhanging tree that they're perching on to do their business?

Hi Dovefromabove and thanks for taking the time to reply.
I don't know because I've never actually seen them in the act - or I would be aiming and firing. There's a couple of magpies and collared doves.
Hi Dave Morgan and thanks for taking the time to reply
Whatever they are, they s**t in the same spot every time and the pile now looks like a grey and white cow pat so it's killing the grass in one spot and not "fertilising" the rest!
Similar problem at work with pigeons and doves roosting and leaving large piles of muck. Often one bird of a pair will sit away from the nest in a favourite spot while it's mate is on the nest.
In the garden a blackbird often roosts in the same spot and messes on the compost heap. ( yay).
I can only suggest you remove any perch they are using, or make it unusable.
I'm afraid that the wildlife and countryside act makes the shooting of birds in your garden strictly off limits.
Even magpies?
My money's on a pigeon.
