    Update on my garden

Well I’ve had a quite week really with no clearing of my garden. The reason for this is I have twisted my foot and can’t walk on it without pain killers. However I don’t mind to much just sitting in my garden enjoying what I’ve done already. I have planted in pot some perennials for next year and also bought some more seeds and plugs as well here is the list for new arrivals i hope to be growing in my garden next year, this does mean I have to erect my greenhouse as soon as possible or move them into the conservatory for the winter.

  • Morning all I hope you are all well I know I said this is a weekly Blog but I have a small update and where better to mark my cutting date than here.

I have just done my Rosemary cuttings today 12 in total

I'm going to make some lavender cuttings as well at the weekend again 12 divided in two pots taken from a mature plant that never get pruned (this is not my plant but grows at my local Hospital)

I plan to paint my fence today and start on my greenhouse as I have a lot of seed tray/plants in pots

I also plan to cut my grass and clear some more of my hedges as the council are working on the pathways around my area as my hedge steps over the boundary of the path a little bit

The front garden I plan to clear over the winter and make some raised beds ,I'm saving up for some railway sleepers I think 12 should do it. This will make 4 raised beds hopefully

Thanks for reading my post comments and advice are always welcome and at times needed

  • Thank you James

  • Sounds great James - how do you take cuttings of Rosemary - I have a

large Rosemary bush which has turned a bit woody, so would be glad of

a tip on how to grow  a nice new one or two.  Many thanks!

  • Flowersforbees

go to YouTube type fork to fork herbs and watch Monty take his cuttings great tips

I've never been able to take them before so fingers crossed

this is not a fob off just a point in the right direction

     James

  • Thanks for that James - I'll take a look - Mony makes things look so easy,

so hopefully it will work for me too!

  • Hi James - What's happened to your weekly blog? Hope your foot

    isn't still making things difficult?

  • I've been busy in the garden I will update tomorrow with photo's

I didn't think anyone was really following my post

    James

  • I'm sure lots of people would like to follow your post James - including me!

It's not quite so easy now everything is starting to die back, to make our

posts as interesting as in the height of the summer.  I'm struggling myself,  as

my wildflower garden is more or less dead!  Keep posting though - it's good

for the soul (or should I say soil)!

  • Well it’s been a little while since my last post update

For many reasons bad foot, wedding  anniversary ,  wife’s birthday also a really poorly Dog thought he had IMHA but his on the mend now. Yes the Vet relieved me of £300.00 for only two blood tests and a shot of pain killers to bring his temperature down and a course of antibiotics. But I would pay anything for my Springer (he’s my best friend).

Right on to the garden and what I’ve been up to. Well summer ended really quickly you know two weeks ago it was 25 to 28 degrees and starting to get dark at 9.15 pm

So what have I done in the garden well to start with I’m still cutting down ivy and bushes I think I’ve reclaimed three square meters by the decking and another three square meters by the conservatory. I’ve also made some staging for the greenhouse but it’s in the conservatory with plants on it. The greenhouse is erected up to the guttering height and sat on the decking waiting for the foundations to be completed OK started but that’s going to get started this weekend rain or shine.

I have bought four new pots today from B&Q not cheap £70.00 for four but my spring bulbs will love them, the last of by bulbs have arrived now so guess what I’m doing tomorrow.

Two pots with have Allium and the other two will have winter plants with colour pink clayman and yellow pansy My other plans for the next week or two is to dress the lawn and seed also add some new flower beds to the garden one is planned by the decking and one planed by the trees

Ok here is a list of bulbs I have going into the garden this autumn

    Allium Sphaerocephalon

    Allium Christophii

    Anemone Blanda

    Chionodoxa Forbesii

    Fritillaria Meleagris
