My Lobelia isn't flowering

It's very green and looks healthy but no flowers. Is this normal?

I am only just pricking mine out, it'll go outside end of May and start flowering then,

I was going to say, I bought some lobelia Russian Princess plants and am not expecting them to lower yet. The label says July to August but my annual lobelias don't normally go in until 2nd week of may at the earliest.

  • pinching out? that's another thing I should have done? need to learn....

I don't pinch out lobelia, just let it trail.

Siobhan. What type of lobelia is it.?

Annual trailing or bedding lobelia will not be in  flower yet. The ones in flower in the garden centres have been forced and will not last as long as seedlings grown slow and colder.

Perennial lobelia such as Lobelia cardinals or fan series  like to be damp and will flower in July and August.

    Neither need pinching out.

  • It's the one with small purple flowers, it's in a terracotta pot. So I should just water it and leave it?
