mulching-with-conifer-chippings

We are digging a new bed to plant a belt of trees - acers, liquidambers and birch.  Would it be ok to mulch with chippings from a leylandii hedge we have just felled ?

Many thanks

image Would wait til weathered a bit. Too raw could take rather than replace nutrients, I think, unless someone else knows different.

I think that's right addict. You're supposed to leave any woody chippings for a while before you use them as mulch. Probably just pile them up and store them for a bit chicky?

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Thanks addict and FG - great advice - will store the bags out of the way for a while and think about using them next autumn.
