T&M offers in GWMag

Hi guysimage  has anyone else had a problem with delivery of offers. I ordered from the April addition of my magazine for the bacopa, geraniums and also the free plugs. I queried the delay in arrival thinking they may have been lost in post, that was a week ago and have just received an e.mail to say they will be despatched at the end of May.imageMy baskets and troughs are well advanced in the GH and by the end of May I will be looking to hang them . Needless to say I've asked to cancel the order and will set off to GC to buy the plants. Really disappointed image

Unfortunately this is the price you pay

I've ordered some helleborus Niger under offer and have no idea when they will arrive. Could be a month
  • Yeah I suppose but they weren't especially cheap just took my fancy while browsing the mag on a rainy dayimageimage

The hellebores I ordered are from jparker , I think

    10 for ??10

Luckily the nearest b&q is 16 miles away - I've blown my meagre budget for the spring :-/

I do enjoy raising plug plants though. Its cheap but you still get to see em grow.

I wouldn't bother to order plugs now, in fact, I wouldn't send away at the best of times. By the time they get round to sending them, they aren't big enough for your tubs baskets etc, and need to be brought on before you can plant them out. That's why they are cheap.

Darren, your Hellebores will be absolutely fine, because they are for next winter anyway, so have all the summer to be potted up and grown on. I have had those from Parkers.

I've ordered the hellebores before, for my mums garden.

You don't always get highest quality plugs but things like hellebores are tough and grow well enough to flower the following spring

I'd say I've been pretty happy with plugs from most suppliers since 2005. Although I learned to avoid the tender hanging basket stuff like petunias etc, I find it easier to get em early from the GC in early march.

Our current garden is pretty bare in late winter/ early spring

Lots of herbaceous and shrubs for later on but I need something in flower , for me and the bees that love the pulmonaria here.
