Does anyone know what this is, no-one seems to recognise it!

Can anyone help me identify this plant please? It's in a new bed I made last year and isn't anything I'm aware that I've planted but I don't think it's a weed. On the other hand I have a dock now growing where I thought I'd planted a delphinium image

Sorry sanjy, not arguing, posts crossed. I think that's a too strong-looking plant for fumitory, unless mine are very feeble specimens

  • Ohhh Sunshine Smiler - if you're digging any of it up, could I possibly have some pieces of the rhizomes ....... I will gladly pay the postage image

Sorry - forgot to say please image

  • Ah, that's what someone I asked at the RHS said aym280! Jinxy, you are more than welcome to pieces of rhizomes when I get round to doing something with it, however having investigated a bit further following your responses, I think Sanjy could be right as it looks suspiciously like a fumitory, however, for now I plan to let it be as part of a cottage garden border.

Thank you all for your help.

  • I was thinking along the fumitory lines too - but I've also been looking at several varieties of Corydalis image (I've put a request on the Seed and Plant swap for one variety).

Whatever it is, when you decide, I should be very grateful to take you up on your offer (please) image
