Hello, I am wondering if anyone would know the name of this plant? I found it on a blog and am hoping it has not been Photoshopped.

Thank you!

Not one I recogniseimage The leaves don't look quite right for Parthenocissus, but that would give you that kind of coverage. It is green in summer, brilliant red in autumn and then loses its leaves till spring. Don't know of any that are purple except the grapevine Vitis vinifera purpurea, but that has vine shaped leaves (naturallyimage) This has purple leaves in summer, goes red in autumn and then loses them. It isn't a self clinger like Parthenocissus though, so would need support.

I don't recognise it either - even if the leaves were green it's not familiar - think it's probably from warmer climes than Norfolk, whatever colour it naturally is.

Perhaps someone who's travelled more widely than I have may recognise it image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • It's lovely Emma - but I think it's too 'perfect' image I think it's been photo-shopped that colour and softened ....... possibly creeping fig (Ficus pumila) with image air-brushed image

Its self clinging and looks to be of a Mediterranean/hot climate origin

The red leaves could be natural due to the intense sunlight.
  • The pic was originally taken in Pollensa on Mallorca (Balearic Islands) - so if anyone going there on their hols could come up with any suggestions ....... image

I would with Jinxy and say that the image has been 'photo-shopped', but I would like to be proven wrong as the colour is most interesting!
