Kalanchoe Black Bugs Problem - Help
Hello Gardners World
Back again with another planting problem. I have this gorgeous little Kalanchoe Succulent which was gifted to me about a year ago. It's on a window sill and strangely has grown quite long. When I first got it, it had large leafs and lots of little flowers. Since then it has been repotted and has grown out with small tiny leafs and more stems. No flowers as of yet.
My problem is last year I had a bit of a black bug problem *aphids?* in the garden - they were all over the nasturtiums and just took over the garden patio. I washed the plants in the shower to try and spray the bugs off but they stuck around. Now they're on my bronze fennel and I've decided not to have nasturtiums as I don't want to encourage them.
However, the little buggers have now come in the house and taken over my Kalnchoe plant.
How can I get rid of them without harming the plant? Last year I tried fairy liquid / water on the nasturtiums and the nasturtiums wilted. Also I don't like pesticides that hurt bees.
Any suggestions ? Please see attached photos of when I first got the plant and now with close ups of the little buggers

Now (with bugs - which keep trying to spread on my other house plants!)
Any help welcome!

Put the pot in a plastic bag and secure it around the stem with a twist tie or similar. Fill a bowl with lukewarm water with a drop or two of washing up liquid. Turn plant and pot upside down, keeping your fingers over the compost, and give it a good swish in the water. If you have a child's or artist's paintbrush you could use that to help usher the beasties out of their hidey holes. Leave plant for a day or two, then check again. lf you see any more, repeat until they are all gone.
Thanks! I feel awful killing things but my poor plants! As my mum says! It's a war! You can let them win but then your loosing out ! So fairy liquid it is!
