Well if you do whack in a couple of climbers one at each end of the garage, and if you are planting something like a clematis montana, give it ( and anything else for that matter) a really good start with a 18x18x18 inch pit and put in a feeder pipe in a corner on some small pebbles ( sink plastic pipe with notches). Good quality John Innes No 3 for the pit and pay for a decent plant ( or two) - its worth paying a bit extra for quality 3 litre pot size.
I think it is really important to get climbers in with attention to detail
It would be a good idea before you plant to make sure that your garage is strong enough to take the weight and also that you won't want to paint it for some time!
