Laying turf on water logged soil

I recently dug up a large flower bed soil area with the intention of laying down a bit of turf to extend the garden but since digging and leveling i am finding that the soil is holding a lot of water when it rains Usually that corner of the garden grass holds a fair bit of water anyway and gets water logged with excessive rain. My question is am i able to lay turf where it gets logged or will it not take correctly. Do i need to anything extra or just lay as Normal. I dont mind if it gets water logged when down but dont want to waste time and money if it won't work. Thanks in advance
