Help and advice needed please
Hello there
Your knowledge is needed please. I am not an experienced gardener so advice gratefully received. Our project is redoing our front garden and changing it from eyesore to kirb appeal. We have built a large deck to cover some very ugly 1950s concrete beds and paths. On the deck we have 2 long raised planters and 2 tall planters which I am going to plant up with cottage garden plants and evergreen shrubs. Help needed here: Down some steps and onto our gravelled parking area we have built 2 raised planters 5mts long 1 mt wide In these I would like to plant evergreen shrubs that like clay and will grow to at least 8 ft tall to form a privacy screen so we can sit out and use the deck.
I liked the idea of a butterfly bush hedge but then was told they are not evergreen and will loose the hedge look in winter and then will have to cut them down to regrow again in the spring. This does not work for me as I would like the privacy element all year round.
Any suggestions what to use. Fast growing preferably with a flower that like clay I thought maybe Photinia red robin or Photinia Pink marble
I can post photos of the ongoing project if that helps
many thanks in advance
Jo
