Mint

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone new of a variety of evergreen mint that doesn't die down and grow back in a different place - we have a herb wheel surrounded by shingle so does look a bit odd!

Mint tends to travel outwards. You plant it in one place and the next year it will move out from the centre and keep going until you stop it. You can confine it to a pot and sink that in the ground then start again the following year in order to keep the stuff under control. As far as I know, all mint suffers from wanderlust.

Plant the mint somewhere else, shady and damp preferred. Replace it with one of the Medierranean herbs, thyme (lots to choose from), rosemary, sage, marjoram/oregano or winter savory, which all like similar sunny, dry conditions.
