Garden peas

Hello, can anyone tell me whether I should pinch out the tops of garden peas as you do with sweet peas to make them grow more bushily? Thanks

Never heard of anyone doing that, although I think it should work. I can not see the point, though, seeing as there are loads of peas in a packet and when spaced at 2-3 inches this will supply more than enough peas for anyone. I have planted a 3 mtr double row and a teepee of Alderman and still have half a packet left over.

How about pinching one and comparing harvest yields later on?

Thank you Mel I didn't think you did pinch them out and I have never done this before. I'm growing Alderman too - great success last year and also a 20foot row of Canoe. Thanks for your help.
