Iris
I dumped a clump of iris onto some crazy paving a good few years ago. It took and grew and migrated on to the lawn so I edged round it and it actually looks quite good in an architectural sort of way so I don't want to divide it.
It doesn't flower much. I only got one stem this year.
Is there any way apart from division that I can get it to produce more flowers next year?
In London. Keen but lazy.

I thought that would be the answer. I think I'll do without. Thanks philippa
What iris is it B3?
sunlight could help, if it's the type to need a good baking on the bulb, if it's not that type, feel free to ignore me
not forever. ..just this thread
It's the blue one with the talcum powdery smell. It's south facing and certainly gets baked!

Aym. Do you mean like a sandcastle with a moat?
I didn't actually plant mine. I just dumped them on a little-used path meaning to put them on the compost heap. They took and, out of respect for their survival against the odds and sheer idleness, I left them.
I wonder if it's worth giving them a high potassium feed, tomato or rose food?
This is a great idea
iris are hardy enough in the right conditions, mine are tall bearded and hate winter wet, nearly lost some thisort year but still small enough to move and looking better already
I haven't worked out what type of iris this is yet

Dark blue / purplish strong perfume. No beard rhizomatous - is that a word? If it wasn't, it is now.
Nice word B3 and a real one
