Plant ID please!

Several of these little things have started to sprout up in my clematis pot. No idea what they are... can anyone identify them? The stems seems pretty robust already considering they are still only small. I'm pretty sure it isnt anything I planted last year.. (Ignore the little seedlings, think they are weedlets!) .

They look a bit like the hypericum I have comjng up all over the place in my garden, except your leaves don't look quite as soft.

  • I thought hypericum at first but the leaves are more shiny and the stem is firmer image

  • They look remarkably like the goat willow seedlings I get in my garden every year, quite tough to pull up as they get bigger.

  • Nutcracker willow could be a possibility. Always catkins flying around. I will keep a close eye and pull out if they start to get more tree like!
