Hey guys,

can you help please? By my works there is a large pink Ribes bush, I have looked on line but cannot find any pink Ribes at all apart from the USA. Does anyone know where  can find one please otherwise I will have to resort to cuttings

Ribes sanguineum var glutinosum ‘Claremont

thanks

..that one doesn't appear to be offered in this country...there are other pink Ribes available but if you want something special I recommend either Ribes x gordonianum or Ribes sanguineum 'Koja' which is a long flowering spectacular shrub in Spring... for me it's the best of the Sanguineum types...

Have a look at Ribes sanguineum 'Brocklebankii' - it has pink rather than the more usually seen red flowers - it also has golden leaves and needs semi-shade - it's a very pretty plant.

Our local garden centre had pink flowed ribes in, when I went a couple of weeks ago. Have a look at your local one.

    That's very fine.

I don't think you'll have too much trouble finding a pink one.

If you google 'pink flowering currant' you get a very specific one native to California.

If you google 'Ribes sanguineum'  images you'll get a wide selection of shades of pink and white to choose from.

...take some cuttings...they're usually easy to strike especially at this time of year...

...I prefer the darker forms, personally, but it's always nice to have a more unusual type...
