Sink pond

Hello my mum has at least one deep Belfast sink and one shallower one. I think she may have a second deep one too. Can she convert these things into a pond or series of ponds. What would need to be done to help wildlife? She'd love a waterlilly. Would any be suitable?

    Yes to both!



    The deep one can be the pond and the shallow one can be a bog garden- or anything you like it to be.



    You can buy mini water lilys.

    Look at. Puddleplants online or visit a local maidenhead aquatics.



    Look for something called nymphaea pygmaea or mini or dwarf.





    Just dig a hole, make it level and place the sink in.

    Sinks are commonly found in fields and gardens.

    Not worried bout the sinks one been in the garden for 4 years the other 15 plus! So clean them up dig on and plant?

    Do they have to be sunk or can they be left above ground? Pressure need a ramp in and out for any frogs etc?

    You don't need to dig a hole

    If you create a ramp or surround the sink with rock/soil/ wood/ plants -- things will be able to get in or out.
