I bought it early last year and matured it in a pot before planting out late last year. This will be its first year to flower. It's sooo acid yellow. I put it near a veronica but I don't think they'll flower at the same time. I think your suggestions of dark leaves plants is a goer verdun. I have a young hydrangea with very dark leaves. That would work as short-lived, it will have died before t size becomes a problem. I'll put up with it this year and take some cuttings. If it sulks it will be worse!
That's why I said big rootball Verdun. If I move one I use a garden fork. I like bowles mauve but I'm not a huge fan myself, although I grow them for clients.
I'm thinking I'm not a huge fan either Dave. But I've only got one floret opened so far. Perhaps I should give it a chance. Haven't smelt its yet. Maybe that will be its saving grace.

Take a big rootball and hey presto moved.
Thanks Dave. Now I'll wait to see if anyone can suggest what goes with it

That makes sense. I tend to buy odd plants rather than groups. Sometimes it works
I tend to see plants as individuals
And this sometimes makes the garden look bitty
But sometimes there is serendipity
