Late summer/autumn bulbs
I'm looking for suggestions please for (late) summer - early autumn flowering bulbs. My containers have been brilliant so far - really pleased with the results. It's the first time I've planted up a lot of pots, 'cos I hate them dying down in the beds ..... and really 'cos I forget where I've put them Blues/purples/mauvey pinks would be good
Oh and I've got tons of alliums and I hate liles and crocosmia

Nerine bowdenii is pink (if it's not white)
Colchicums as well
don't bother with Crocus sativus, it rarely plays the game
In the sticks near Peterborough
I forgot Crocus speciosus, there's one called 'Conqueror' which still turns up every year in my garden but hasn't spread like Colchicum autumnale
In the sticks near Peterborough
Autumn flowering cyclamen too. like C. Hederifolium & C. Purpurescens
Gladioli flower about August/September time if planted now.
I like acidanthera which are a silky white with deep purple throats. Mine flower in September/October. They are also called peacock orchids and are a form of gladiolus so need winter protection from heavy frosts.
Agapanthus come in blues and white and, whilst not strictly a bulb as they have fleshy, rhizomatous roots, do very well in pots.
Gosh - thanks for all the suggestions ........ I have been looking into them all
Note to self - do not google 'Naked Ladies'
