my Kilmarnock willow problem
We have a Kilmarnock small willow, grafted onto another trunk ,bought about 5 years ago it is about 5ft high.It seems happy in its position in a light environtment ,our garden is at approx 400 ft ,south east facing garden in north cornwall. The 1st year we had lovely buds catkins, small and velvety, the next year not quite as good and since then nothing .The tree itself is happy ,it has nice green leaves but we bought it for its spring show of catkins and this we are not getting.....help

Willows flower next year on wood produced this year. so if you pruned it at the wrong time (easily done( then that could be the problem. If not then you need to encourage it to produce new growth. Now is the right time to cut it back and feed it.
mien was very happy until I dug it up a couple of weeks ago.
No catkins: no point. I'm not carrying passengers in the garden.
Mine did that too. I pruned it hard and it had more catkins the next year, but each year there were more and more stumps from the pruned stems, and the tree also tipped over to one side and looked a bit of a mess.
We got rid of it and have replaced it with a slender, elegant sorbus. Much better.
