Newly Planted Bottle Brush dying

I just planted a bottle brush about a week ago and it is already dying. The leaves are drying up and falling off and the bright red flowers are now a dull red/purple. I have watered it about 6 of the past 10 days it and rained one of the other days. I live in South Louisiana. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

It sounds like transplant shock to me - but I'm in the UK and have never grown Bottle brush plants.

Rather than water it every day, I'd give it a good soaking (a good bucket full) once a week and then wait and see.  Hopefully it'll recover and by next year you'll have a healthy plant.
