it's killed all my runner beans - that will tech me not to put them out to earlyimage. I will do another sewing at the end of the month.

Yeah, they are really sensitive to it Landlubber.  I stick to an old routine and don't sow mine until the 1st of May but they will stay in pots indoors for a few weeks if the temps are still low.

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.

I start mine off in modules and plant them out at the end of May. I don't sow direct as the slugs get them before they have chance to grow.image

I was surprised to see the lawn covered in frost this morning - south facing garden in East Anglia, most unusual in April.

To cold in Devon too, I think we had a thread on when to sow runners, everyone (almost!) sows at the end of April.

Frost wiped out my first ever beans. 1969. Maybe that's why I don't grow vegimage

I'm only growing runners and parsnips this year, turning over my biggest veg bed to a Salvia Veridiun bed.

i do have a gooseberry plant that Dove kindly gave me, two different raspberries and rhubarb as well, love the fruit.
