Maintaining a hebe

I've read a couple of the older threads about pruning a hebe, but they seem fairly undecided, so I thought I'd ask if anyone has any experience of hebe 'Silver Dollar' or 'Caledonia' in particular (I'm not sure which it is).

It was lovely and neat last year, but we've tidied up around it now and it's taken the opportunity to put itself about a bit!

The main problem is all the growth is at the front and the back is really bare.

Sorry Verdun, I wasn't making myself clear. We tidied up around the hebe, but didn't prune it at all. It's in full sun (such as it is).

Wonderful, thanks. A nice job for tomorrow if we don't get the heavy rain forecast. image

We're east-facing, so the back of the bush doesn't get as much as the front.
