Have my apple tree cuttings rooted?

Hi
Back in December I did 12 apple tree cuttings as an experiment. I'm not sure of the variety but the cuttings were heel cuttings done with a sharp knife and 6 placed in willow water for several weeks before going into compost and the other 6 straight into sandy compost.

Both sets have now leaves and flowers although the willow water treat ones are more advanced.

What is the likely hood they've rooted after 4 months?

I wait until I can see white roots at the bottom of the pot before I assume they've rooted.

Remember when they do root, they'll not be on any sort of dwarfing rootstock and ,as such, will make big trees. Bear this in mind when you plant them out.

I've never known anyone root their own apples, well done you.

Doubt if they've rooted after 4 months. Take the flowers off, they don't need to be putting energy into that. That doesn't mean they won't root,
