Leaning Prunus tree

We have a young prunus that was planted about 3 years ago but has recently started leaning to one side. I've tied it to a stake to straighten up, but it's top top that seems too heavy. Should I reduce the weight in the top half? Any suggestions welcome! Thanks

  • Thanks for your reply. It's odd thought as there are no other trees nearby (the one in the picture is in next doors garden) and its in full sun for the majority of the day. Any thought?
  • I had a conifer lean because the soil underneath was sodden, could that be happening here?  You might need to use a longer stake!
