does anybody happen to know where on line we can get a single hellebore double black. we have only seen on line where we have to buy mixed or 3 plants but we only want one.
can anybody help

I don't think it's a case of being territorial aym ........ it just gets confusing when something starts and turns into something else ....... we're all guilty of it
Love the purpurascens aym. Agree with you about them taking off like arrows if in the right spot. Mine love the heavy clay here. In strict disregard for my vow only to fit in ONE hellebore so I had room for other things I have kept buying and now have several. AShwoods are so mind-numbingly expensive that I resisted for many a long year but the two or three I have from them stand out among the rest for the quality of their flowers and vigour. I have one which I bought that has flowered this year and two which won't be big enough until next. I have resisted the double black a. because my friend has one and don't want to look like I'm competing and b. if I am being ruthlessly honest black doesn't work in my garden, it just disappears. however here is a flower of the one which did bloom this spring (is still blooming, I should say.) I shall have to start saving seed, now...
