Cobaea scandens

I really like the look of these but have limited space in my long, narrow garden.  I am thinking of using them to scramble up through a flowering cherry I have which is utterly gorgeous at the moment but then obviously turns into something quite ordinary for the rest of the summer.  Is this a reasonable idea?
