Help with mystery plant

DispondedDisponded Posts: 43

Hi all

I have this monstrosity growing in my back garden and it's gotten out of hand.

I will be cutting it back down to about 1m tall (it's about 3m-4m at the moment) but I would like to know what it is before I chop it.

Thanks for the help.

    Hi Disponded image

It's one of the summer flowering jasmines - beautifully perfumed flowers.

Someone may even be able to tell you which one ...

It does need a bit of taming doesn't it image

Lol. Yes it does Dove. It was beautiful once before I neglected it. It used to be around head height once with a sea of flowers with the bees busy gathering nectar image

I will make amends this weekend and cut it back. There has just been too many other things to do over the last few years.image

Thank you I will go and look it up now.

Jasmine is quite an amenable beauty and usually reacts really well to being cut back.  A feed of Fish, Blood and Bone will help it along image

    Hi Dove

It looks like it's common Jasmine. I will treat it with a bit more care now, cut it back, feed it and look after it better.

    Thanks for the helpimage
