Willow Tree? - Anyone know which ?

Hi!

I am new here and looking forward to getting some help and advice from you all (and offering any if I know!).

I have this tree in my garden which I chopped back year before last as it was cutting out a lot of light - the result has been fabulous - and seen in this picture.

I had a 'Google' and came up with Willow as the tree - but does anyone know if this is true and even what variety it is please?

Thank you all in advance!

Yes, I'd say salix caprea (goat willow).  I think it is the one that most people call "pussy willow" because of its soft grey catkins.  You can snip a few twigs off and put them in a vase with daffodils for classic spring decoration!
