Talkback: Eight plants to grow with cosmos
Good ideas I particularly like them with the Eryngium's and the Dahlia's not tried theses before. I have grown them with Verbena Bonariensis and calendular all of which grow better than weeds in our garden. I will be planting them with the Dahlia's, calendula and nasturtium's on the veg allotment, as I am interested in companion planting and attracting beneficial insects ect What about a future article on that?

I sowed two packets of cosmos seed earlier - one pack was fresh and the other was well past its use by date - both packs germinated and had their seed leaves within 48 hours in a heated windowsill propagator.
If yours haven't germinated in a fortnight there's something wrong. Chuck them and get some more.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sowed the free cosmos seeds, unheated, just in the bedroom windowcill, masses of seeds up very quickly. Last year I just grew them in pots didnt conbine them with anything else.
Have I missed some free cosmos seeds?
I've sown some on the window sill, about 80% up within 3 days or so
I like them with nasturtiums, tagete tenuifolia but are probably my favourite half hardy annual.
