    I pulled out the remains of a plant the other day, to find the main root enclosed in a tea bag type thing. It should have survived the very mild winter we have had. Still, it leaves a space for something new.

    I suppose the theory is that the roots grow through but reading this thread it doesn't seem to be happening 

    Bought a couple of plants yesterday from G/C will check them before planting image

    Had to move a jasmine plant that was a present and guess what it was in a tea bag , however , pleased to report a very goog root system but the tea bag still in there , it has been in for a year and not rotted down !

    Hi , yes I'll join this campaign! I bought an escallonia last spring , needed coverage and GC recommended it. So bought and planted but I took it as read that the tea bag thingy would allow roots to grow through and rot down / didn't know any better...... No ! it didn't come on all last year, so just dug up to re- position and low n behold, it's a tea bag with a very small root ball. Fingers crossed, it now grows on properly

    Pulled up two more dead penstemons today, with roots enclosed in teabags. 

    My cuttings won't be going in teabags thats for sure.

    Hello further to my post in April , looks like Jasmine has died , will see when get back , I have moved looks of plants over the years ans rarely if at all lose any must be down to tea bag image
