It must be spring
It must be spring, the floriferous hellebores, there are 12 of them in all continue to flower, it must be over 6 months of continuous blooms and thank goodness the clematis montana broughton star that I was convinced was dead becasue I shoved it in in the middle of winter with very little ceremony is very much alive.
And also the dicentra spectabilis or whatever it's called now is popping up so all is well.
How is it going in your garden?

Looking forward to the aquilegias as they are my favourite.

What a beautiful hellebore Lou, I'm more than a tiny bit jealous.
Glad your clematis is doing well, it's lovely when plants bounce back after you think they've had it.
Things aren't so rosy in my garden, the anemone "de Caen" I planted last autumn had lots of leafy growth but all the flower heads have been chomped.
I agree about the montana, spread the stems out sideways.
Thanks Kitty, I am well impressed with the hellebores. My lovely hyacinths all got chomped too but funnily enough the anemones were fine out there in the flower beds - we must have different types of slugs!

Should be ok Andy the clematis montana group seem to be bomb proof, that will look lovely around a tree.
I'm going to spend out the clematis Darren and Redwing, my husband promised to put up some tension wires for me but he didn't specify which year he was going to do this
