Buying veg plug plants online
in Fruit & veg
Hi
My 83 year old mum has asked me to order her plug plants - tomatoes, peppers, aubergine etc. She is a wonderful gardener and I have L plates on so I don't want to let her down. Could any of you clever people recommend an online supplier who can deliver good quality plug plants please? Any help would be much appreciated!

I was visiting our local Wyevale last Sunday and noticed that they had some very healthy looking vegetable plants ( much bigger and stronger than plug plants) for sale, including tomatoes. If I remember correctly, they were on a special offer as well
My (very limited) experience with plug plants online hasn't been great to be honest.
Mine have been flowers, I haven't tried vegetables, but I would agree with other posters who say pop down to your local garden centre or nursery (try and find one with more plants, less lifestyle concessions). I've found that staff are very happy to help you find suitable plants, especially if you go during the week and I've had great advice too.
Aldies are selling young veg plants at around £3 per tray. They look to be in excellent condition.
rocket gardens excellent organic veg supplier of plug plants and any issues they will replace or refund. Only issues I have ever really had have been due to weather etc and out of suppliers control. I must say the plants have been far better than local garden centres and far far better than the diy stores. Also certified organic at rocket, huge choice of veg as well
OOh advert over but am a big fan
And don't forget to carefully cut off the nylon encasing the roots on the plugs - see Verdun's protest thread!
Thank you all for your replies. I have to get the plants online as I am 320 miles away from her!! Will have a look at Rocket. Thanks again
