  • Apparently Proteas need special compost and fertiliser, which must have no Phosphorus. This is not widely available.

  • I wish you the heartiest of good luck NewBoy2! I bought two Protea Grandiflora's last year, followed all the instructions to the T but alas it was not meant to be and they have shuffled off this mortal coil and are laid to rest in the compost! image.

There are some awesome comerical Protea growers in Cornwall, might be worth googling them and getting in contact.  They do absolutely need speical compost (you can purchase this from said Protea growers in Cornwall - many do online purchasing) and the right growing conditions are a must.

  • Nope don't mind at all image..... I bought mine from Trewidden Nursery but I've a feeling they've changed their name or something so I can't find a link. I'm just off out now but will try and find a new link for you this arvo!

  • Done a search but I canee find nowt! Very strange...

These guys stock protea but I have no idea how dear they are or if they stock seeds!

  • You're welcome! I wouldnt have thought of looking on eBay for seeds!  What a great idea image.  You'll have to keep us posted of your progress! And well done for exercising restraint, its sooooooo easy to spend on seeds and plants!!!!

  • Oooooh awesome, we live in the back of beyond so no Poundshop close but when I go to my mums I shall be sure to pop in! Thank you!! image
