Bed edging on a slope
I'm looking for some opinions on how best to edge a long (30 x 3 ft) garden flower bed.
On one side is a low brick wall built up from a sunken path (just up to over soil height), on the other side is a lawn. The lawn slopes to one end of the bed. I want to edge the bed on the lawn side with quite chunky wood (sleepers maybe).
What would be best: keep the wooden edging at a level height all the way along, and back fill the sloped end with soil to have a level bed? Or edge it following the slope down?
Pity I can't attach photos here to explain better!
Opinions welcome.

Agree.
Level railway sleepers would look good.

Thanks for the thoughts so far - and for pointing out I can attach photos! Here they are - excuse the condition of the bed, I have just dug it out from the lawn and haven't done any further work on it yet!
I am cutting out steps up to the lawn level with the edge of the bed (from where I took the first photo). I want it edged, rather than raised, to stop anyone turning their ankle if they slip into it, and to make it easier to mow the lawn.
In the programme The Instant Garden they used aluminium edging which gave a neat edge. But there are lots of different types of edging out there.
