Garden plant Indenitifcation

emma 23emma 23 Posts: 4

Hello,

I wondered if I could pick your minds with identifying this plant. I have just moved into a new house and have cut back the front garden. I noticed it today, is it a weed? It has a large tropical looking flower forming in the middle.

Thank you

Emma

I think what you're seeing as a flower is a new shoot. It looks very healthy!

Yes - nice new shoots appearing.  image

It looks like you have a skimmia or viburnum growing right next to it Emma.  The Fatsia will grow over it so if you have room somewhere else, it might be worth moving one of them to give them both room to grow.

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
