    Yes, same Tootles, the seed compost seems to clag together and there are a lot of 'stones' in it. That's in the compost not innit, as in modern speakimage

    I planted my seedlings in seed compost and vermiculite for the first time this year. Had good germination but then I had good germination last year in MPC but didn't try as many different seeds as this year so I can't really compare.

    What I have noticed is that everything seems to be growing an awful lot slower. Things that were sown in early Feb have only just developed their 1st pair of true leaves and just budding the second pair.

    I have transplanted the 'Tall Scabious' into MPC with vermiculite today and will see if they take off - they had a great root system though.

    Can I just ask - what is the aim in using seed and cutting compost?
