Looking forward to catching up with it tomorrow evening (always record it on Sunday am). Perfect end to a weekend of gardening.
Have met Mr B too, and can second the fact that he was a really good sort - not celebrity at all, a genuinely nice guy. He came to give a talk at the local gardening club - scheduled from 8-9pm .....10.30pm and he was still going strong. The chicklets thought we had been kidnapped
Have only ever watched Beechgrove once ...... and haven't since - hated every minute of it. Won't even watch when there's nothing else on. Still it takes all kinds
Just goes to show what a diverse lot we are......as you say 'it takes all kinds', wouldn't it be boring if it were otherwise.
For me, I judge a gardening program by the accuracy of advice being given and its relevance to the viewers it's aimed at. I feel that in that respect (and others) Beechgrove ticks all the boxes, for both experienced and new gardeners.
I think you're absolutely right David and I'm not just saying it as a Scot
Some programmes (of any kind) are simply entertainment and some are factual. I think of Beechgrove as factual and informative and I now see G's World as entertainment. Not sure quite when that happened
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
I watch Beechgrove Garden every week - it's a great programme with lots of good information. But....I find the sound a real problem. I've asked other people in my family if it's just me, and they have confirmed that they find the sound muffled too. The sound on Gardener's World is a lot more crisp and clear. Does anyone else find the sound a problem?

ditto David. Factual accuracy is everything.
Don't give your preferences / opinions as facts unless they are.

G's World would benefit from more input from Carol Klein.
I see both in both programmes, I enjoy both Beechgrove and GW.
I agree, Joyce, her plant knowledge is impeccable.....but, It has to be said her exuberant style isn't to everyone's taste.
Personally, I would have liked to have seen her given the GW job instead of Mr D.
Oh heavens
