Capillary matting type

Hi

Had  a quick look through treads, and could not see such a post so I apologise if this it has been asked before.

I have used capillary matting for years and together with a automatic watering system have found it to be just the job when away for long week ends or holiday periods.

I have just refurbished my greenhouse and now see that what appears to be carpet underlay both the felt and sponge chip variety are now being offered as capillary matting. I have never used these materials having always used the traditional green/white capillary matting which has served me well.

Please give reviews and experiences of using these new materials. Thank.

Tetley I second that, used felted for many years both commercially and now as an amateur.
