Serious Bay Sucker Problem
I have a well established bay tree/bush, approx. 6' high. Last year it was attacked by bay suckers. pulled off affected leaves but it got worse so I then treated it with ProVado, which limited the damage but didn't 'cure' it. If I remove the affected leaves (almost all of them) will it resolve the problem and will they grow again. Or should I chop it down ????.

Chop it down, it turns into a 30 foot horror and starts making a bay forest.
Wrong type of sucker Lou. Prune out all the affected branches greenlee. It will put on new growth shortly. Bay can take hard pruning. Burn the off cuts.
Thank you Lou12 - I've managed to contain it at 6' high and 2' wide for the last couple of decades so I think I'm safe on the forest front. So thank you to Dave Morgan for your suggestion. Should I prune the main central stem/branch to reduce height as well as the side branches?
Why not, might as well take this opportunity to reshape and rejuvenate greenlee.
Okay...thanks for your advice.
