Dove, I wouldn't normally disagree with you for the world because you know almost everything, but those orange slugs do eat plants, almost every plant. In my garden they coat a plant, covering the leaves and stems and munching away until it's all gone! In the summer I have removed more than 20 at one go from one lupin . They do eat dead slugs and other small bodies and also dog poo, but plants are what they like best, with daisies top of their hit list.
