Garden sprayed with Weedol last year - can I plant in soil/use grass clippings

We sprayed our garden with Weedol before putting down grass seeds 12 months ago. Can I now plant vegetable plants on my garden and use the grass clippings in compost?

The weed killer that I use becomes neutralised when it hits soil so you can plant almost right away, although I usually leave it for a week or so. Don't know about Weedol though. It should tell you on the label.

I wouldn't have used anything at all, I do it the hard way even for flowers. If it doesn't get done it doesn't image

I cannot see why you cannot grow vegetables , If the grass has survived. With the amount of rain we have had this winter any chemicals will have been well and truly leached out.

Same with using the grass mowings in the compost heap. By the time you are ready to use the compost any problems will have long gone.

As for the veg taking up nasties from the soil, if that worries you then you should not eat any veg bought from any supermarket, ever or even from a Farmshop, unless it is sold as organic and even then possibly not.

It states it degrades in soil. Does this mean it's no longer in the soil?

Thanks Verdun. Will take your advice and stick to planting in pots this year.

With regards to the grass clippings, the Tass has been moved at least 10 times. Does this mean it's now safe to use the grass clippings in the compost?

Just noticed my last message is full of typos. Last bit was meant to read "the grass has been mooed at least 10 times. Does this mean it's now safe to use the grass clippings in the compost?

I have a bin full of grass clippings and brown leaves.

I was was initially apprehensive about composting as I was worried about attracting mice and other vermin. However after reading into it a bit further I've found out things like meat and fish and cooked food doesn't go in the compost bin, so I'm thinking about composting.

And my mum just a few minutes ago said to me,"Why don't you pile all your grass and leaves in a corner and let it rot which you can then use."

    Lol.
