Can you identify this plant?

I took a couple of photos of this plant in the public gardens yesterday. Me & OH are having a little dispute about the name - I say Mahonia he says Fatsia Japonica or Castor Oil plant - it was about 8 foot tall - looks really healthy. So what do you call it?

    Yes, Fatsia japonica image

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

  • Yes - thanks Tetley - that is what I was confusing this Fatsia with - well they are both green - ...... I think I will be getting a "told you so" from OH when I tell him all your replies! I'm wrong again!
