Citrus resurrection

I've been asked to resurrect this citrus. It's had a bad case of sooty mould caused by scale insect which has been treated. I've taken off the dead leaves, the remainder are on their way out as well. There's still life in it did a scrape of the bark, so any other tips other than feeding and watering would be appreciated.

    As pansy says check the roots,has it been watered? or you might have vine weavil grubs eating the roots by the look of the leavesimage
