pruning honesuckle

Advice needed. My honeysuckle is confused!  I think it's a Halliana, but the label fell off years ago, so not sure.

Due to the mild winter it flowered right through November and December - even on Christmas day.  It is now putting on loads of growth, which looks pretty healthy, but needs cutting back before it pulls the fence down.  If I cut it back hard now will I sacrifice flowers this year or will it put on enough growth to flower in June/July like it's supposed to?

    Hi Sallya image

I'd cut it back hard now - new fences are expensive (I speak from experience) - and give it some Fish, Blood and Bone.  I'm pretty convinced it'll flower fine in the summer, but even if it misses a year it's better than a new fence image
