Not long now and the better half can have the utility room back for the year God bless her. A couple of bottles of Prosecco always does the job.
The potatoes will be planted in the next two weeks weather permitting however I have also got part of the front bedroom with tomatoes, chilli,s and peppers coming on in the heat so there's another couple of bottles also.
My planting Has now commenced however my main planting month/s are APril and MAy and it does to say the least get rather hectic and busy with all the seeds and transplanting. Having a large allotment I make it my business to plant every sq yard and also to plan for planting successional afterwards.
Last year was my best to date so my goals again are to meet last year or better with a tad bit luck
Like you say sharing with others on the plot is great and I always offer any seeds/plants I do not plant out which is great for networking and making more friends on the plot.
Being 54 and called youngin on the plot is brill however I must say the skills and growing techniques i have picked up from the more mature pack is fantastic and learning every day.
Charlotte. You can cook them any way you like (although they're not the best roasters) and they keep brilliantly. I've only just run out of last year's crop and they were all still fine - just beginning to sprout. They taste yummy too.
Kestrel were also excellent when I grew them a few years ago.
