Help for a novice

Tony47Tony47 Posts: 1

Hi I'm an 70+ who has never done any gardening other than cut the grass and things like hanging baskets so I would like some knowledge on growing vegetables on 2 beds 8x4 which have wintered with a green manure that as now dug in and now I want to start planting, so any help would be appreciated. .

As the others have said Tony, grow what you like to eat and veg you can freeze. There's no real secret to growing veg. They are plants which you eat. They all come from seed and sowing seed is easy. Youve prepared well so you can go two ways or a combination of both, seed or plug plants. Seed is economical plug plants are easier and are usually bought from GC's or online suppliers. GC's may be easier for you and you buy them in trays or strips which you just plant out. Two 8x4 beds will give you a good selection. A good book for a starter is the D.G.Hessayon book on growing veg. Simple up to date with clear instructions. Relatively cheap too. Feel free to ask questions no question is daft or unanswerable. Welcome by the way and good luck.
